Wireless Sensor Networks as Hierarchical Complex Systems

By exploiting the analogy with complex systems, we propose a mathematical model to handle the emergence of hierarchy in wireless sensor networks (WSN). Our approach, motivated by natural examples of hierarchical structures for WSN, is based on a sophisticated threshold secret sharing scheme relying on Birkhoff polynomial interpolation theory.
