ECCS2008 welcomes the proposal, initiation and organization of
satellite conferences on Sept 18-19
(their duration may be between half a day to one day and a half).

Those will be listed below and enjoy the logistic management of ECCS2008.

ECCS2008 offers Satellite Conferences in order to reach a "bottom up"
involvement of the complexity science community and to provide space
for self-organization and emergent fields. Our goal is a broad
exchange of ideas across disciplines.

The following satellite conferences have been suggested

  • Firms and Networks
  • Dynamics on and of Complex Networks - II
  • Soft complexity – Human Complex System
  • Working Memory
  • Innovative agent-based technologies for economic policy design

reserve for Satellite Conference Organizers a certain sum of money in
order to support invited speakers, wave conference fees, and/or
support young scientists, with a focus on new EU member countries and
    female scientists.

Currently, we are planning to provide 1000 EUR for each
Satellite Conference with 15 participants (and 2000 EUR for a
conference with 30 participants). However, these amounts are currently only
indicative. They may be subject to change depending on the support by
our sponsors and the number of registrations.

    2) In exchange we expect that Satellite Conference organizers
undertake efforts to attract additional, regularly paying participants

Conference, otherwise the support will be proportionally reduced).
